Founded in 2019 in Cağaloğlu, the SS Publishers Cooperative (YAYKOOP) is a solidarity-based initiative aimed at overcoming the challenges in the publishing industry. As small and medium-sized publishers face difficulties such as economic crises and censorship, YAYKOOP has created a strong sense of unity and partnership to tackle these issues. Publishing holds a crucial place in the educational and cultural life of society, yet working in this field always requires great effort and dedication. The cooperative aims to address the problems encountered by its members in areas such as production, distribution, promotion, sales, and exhibition through collective efforts. Acting with a spirit of solidarity and cooperation, YAYKOOP strives to keep small publishers in the sector afloat. YAYKOOP treats all its members equally, ensures transparent financial management, and operates without hierarchy. By closely following technological developments, the cooperative aims to lead innovations in the publishing industry. The primary goal of YAYKOOP is to produce quality books and make them accessible to readers at the most reasonable prices. Aware that authors, translators, publishers, distributors, and booksellers are indispensable links in this process, the cooperative values every part of this chain. Additionally, it aims to minimize costs and expand its members sales channels to make them more competitive and desirable. Aiming to contribute to society by promoting cultural, artistic, and scientific productions, YAYKOOP also works to strengthen collaborations with book and publisher cooperatives both in Turkey and internationally.
