WHY SHOULD YOU VISIT INTERNATIONAL ISTANBUL BOOK FAIR?

The Istanbul Book Fair, which has been organized since 1982 by TÜYAP Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in cooperation with the Turkish Publishers Association, has brought together nearly half a million book lovers with the fair participants every year. Latest Publications

You'll be able to find the latest books on the fairgrounds! The fair, which was held last year with the participation of 998 publishing houses and non-governmental organizations from Türkiye and abroad, also hosted newly published or promoted works that did not reach large audiences. An excellent opportunity awaits you to stay up-to-date in the literary world and replenish your book collection by discovering new authors and publications.

Hundreds of Authors

Book fairs host special events where authors meet with their readers and organize book signings. In 2023, book lovers met with writers and poets at more than 400 cultural events and more than 5000 signing days. Don't miss the opportunity to get in touch with your favorite authors and learn more about their work!

An Istanbul Book Fair Tradition: Honorary Author

In 2024, Yalvaç Ural, one of the leading names in children's and youth literature, was awarded the 41st Annual Awards by the TÜYAP Cultural Fairs Advisory Board. He was selected as the "Honorary Author" of the International Istanbul Book Fair. Yalvaç Ural's fairytale world and his contributions to children's and youth literature will form the main axis of the fair this year. The fair will also host cultural events to be organized with the participation of Yalvaç Ural.

The main theme of the fair was determined as "Childhood is Festival!". Inspired by the works of Yalvaç Ural, the 41st International Istanbul Book Fair will celebrate the importance and value of childhood, the golden age of imagination and discovery. The activities to be held within the scope of the fair will also include activities that will contribute to the mental and emotional development of children, encourage them to read and allow them to use their imagination freely.

A Full Event Program Awaits You

Various events are waiting for you to benefit from the knowledge of the leading writers and poets of the literary world. For nine days, you can have a unique experience with cultural events such as poetry recitals, interviews and panels, and you can closely follow the developments in the literary world. You can have a pleasant time with activities such as workshops and theater performances, and you can have fun experiences as well as shopping for books.

Highlights of the 40th Istanbul Book Fair held in 2023:

  • My First Book in Tüyap: 22 new authors introduced their first books to book lovers through interviews held at the fair.
  • International Events: Some of the events that took place in the international hall are listed below:

  • Interactive Event Area: In the interactive activity area created in the fairground, visitors had a pleasant time with interesting activities organized in accordance with the daily themes determined for children and adults. (Themes: Fantasy, Manga-Anime-Cartoon, Crime-Ecology and Sustainability, Creativity and Design, Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Applications)
  • Award Ceremony: During the fair, 3 award ceremonies were held: Attila İlhan Literature Awards Award Ceremony, Tekin Sönmez Language, Philosophy, Literature Awards and Cevdet Kudret Literature Awards Ceremony.
  • Exhibition: There were 2 exhibitions: the "Honorary Authors of Forty Years" Exhibition and the "Selections from the Posters and Photographs of the Forty Years Book Fair" exhibition.
  • Book: Three books were prepared and published by TÜYAP: "Honorary Authors of Forty Years", "Deniz Kavukçuoğlu is Eighty Years Old" and "The Centennial Plane Tree That Lives the Republic: Nermin Abadan Unat".
