The School Librarians Association has adopted the mission of ensuring that libraries, information and media centers within contemporary educational institutions and the librarians who work in them take part in lifelong learning activities at a national level, and of leading all necessary efforts to enable every student to benefit from modern library services while learning how to learn. For 15 years, it has been working to organize publications, meetings, and training activities that promote the recognition, development, and cooperation of school librarians at national and international levels; to structure them and the library, information, and media centers they are affiliated with in ways that enable collaboration with all stakeholders in the field of education; and to make these centers an indispensable tool for students in lifelong learning.
