Kesit Publishing was established in Çağaloğlu in 2007 for publishing activities. It is based on service to the Turkish culture world. It has embraced publishing its original and valuable work and supporting scholars as a publication policy. Our publications in the fields of language, philosophy, education and sociology, especially the Turkish Language and Literature departments of our universities, have reached 800 numbers. There are approximately 1100 of our writers. It is our goal to try to keep our cultural life alive with Turkish and world classics. Academic books and classics published by our publishing house became known in Turkey and abroad.

The Ottoman Turkish Guide is a key that will open the doors to a thousand years of cultural heritage. With this guide, you will learn Ottoman Turkish step by step from the basics to the more advanced, through a well-structured and gradual teaching method. Through the Ottoman Turkish Guide, you will easily learn to read and write, understand the structure of Arabic and Persian-origin words and expressions in Turkish, and reinforce your knowledge with suitable examples and exercises. The literary, historical, political, and religious mystical texts included in the book will both improve your reading skills and expand your vocabulary, while helping you discover different aspects of Ottoman culture. The Ottoman Turkish Guide will also help you better understand and speak modern Turkish.

Preparing Festschrift volumes for scholars who have made significant contributions to their field through their works and students is among the elegant traditions of the scholarly world. Such commemorative books are usually presented on birthdays or professional anniversaries. While some of our esteemed professors have had the chance to experience this honor during their lifetime, in other cases when a scholar passes away unexpectedly the long-overdue gift takes the form of a Memorial Book. It is then published and presented on a meaningful day, most often the scholar s birth or death anniversary, as a tribute both to their spirit and to the world of learning. During the preparation of such works, colleagues, friends, and students of the honored scholar engage in an intensive effort. Through their recollections, they immortalize the memory of their teacher, while through their scholarly articles, they transform the Festschrift or Memorial Book into a valuable reference work. In doing so, they bring the respected name of their mentor once more into academic attention and ensure that the book bearing their name will continue to be consulted for many years. As is evident, this is a cherished academic tradition maintained among scholars. The work you now hold in your hands, however, is a rather exceptional example of such a Memorial Book one prepared not by fellow academics alone, but by family members, colleagues, and scholars who came together under the same publishing house to commemorate a publisher. It is exceptional, for the late Sadettin BAYRAK himself represented an equally exceptional understanding of publishing within the history of Turkish print culture. As a publisher who embraced Turkology as his principal field, Sadettin Bayrak not only published hundreds of works within the framework of Kesit Publishing but also established enduring friendships with their authors. Through this quality, he became not only a prominent figure in the publishing world but also a respected and senior actor within the academic community. He was a brother to many experienced scholars who, after working with various publishing houses, found in him the sincerity and integrity they had long sought; and he was an elder brother to numerous professors who published their first books with Kesit Publishing. Because he viewed his authors not as mere professional partners but as friends, he valued being present in the places and moments where only a true friend would be. Throughout his life, he demonstrated his loyalty and proved himself deserving of the loyalty shown to him. This Memorial Book, prepared by his family, his close colleagues at the publishing house, and the authors of Kesit Publishing (of whom, unfortunately, only a limited number could be included due to space constraints), has been published on the first anniversary of Sadettin Bayrak s passing. It should be regarded as a token of gratitude and appreciation offered to him on behalf of all the people whose lives he touched. We once again commemorate our dear Sadettin with mercy and affection, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Kesit family who contributed to the creation of this Memorial Book.
