    This book is the first book written in Islamic history that tells the events that took place from the death of the Prophet until the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, from the perspective of the Ahl al-Bayt. Sulaym, the son of Qays, who is one of the relatives of Imam Ali, Imam Hasan, Imam Hussein and Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin, has written in his book not only what he heard from Ahli Bayt, but also the events he witnessed from Ahli Bayt s point of view. Suleym was one of Imam Ali s 40 martyrs in the Battle of Siffin. The Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt also gave advice to their friends about the importance of Suleym s book. Abu Tufayl and Umar, son of Abu Salama, read the book in the presence of Imam Zayn al-Abidin from morning to evening for three days.
